Forketers is a web platform founded with the aim of helping small restaurant managers and entrepreneurs to improve the performance of their business through the most budget-friendly and effective offline and online marketing approaches that exist today. The website speaks a simple and plain language to allow anyone who runs a restaurant to understand and implement the smartest strategies and tricks to boost their visibility without investing large amounts of money. The most efficient marketing is not the result of a huge budget, but rather a well-thought-out process.
What will I find here?
This platform offers support to small business owners and managers with guides, tips, tricks and information to increase the number of daily covers. Many restaurateurs have great knowledge of business operations but lack marketing skills, especially in the increasingly important digital field. Besides, entering into a contract with a consultant may be onerous. This website intends to meet this need by helping F&B operators to think strategically and act as marketers as well as managers. In a nutshell, the website wants to make restaurant managers become Forketers.
What is a Forketer?
A Forketer is a modern, smart, marketing-oriented manager able to fork customers into their restaurant and make them return. They deploy effective and easy-to-implement marketing strategies to hit not only the stomachs, but even the minds of people. They know that the success of a restaurant is off of the plate. It is no longer only about the food, but about the whole dining experience that starts from when the customer is still out of the restaurant. Bringing a restaurant to success requires not only knowledge of the business itself, but marketing expertise as well. Every restaurateur that works in the world of forks must act both as a manager and a marketer: they must be a Forketer.
SMEs Marketing Consultant
My name is Nicola Barcellona and I work as a marketing consultant for small and medium-sized enterprises. I graduated from LUISS University Rome in Marketing and Communications, and then specialized with a master’s degree in “Economics and Marketing of Tourism and Regional Communication”. For many years I travelled the world working in F&B and digital marketing fields for leading companies such as Millennium and Copthorne Hotels, Costa Cruises and Google.
Growing up among spaghetti and pizza in the south of Italy, I developed a deep interest in the restaurant business; not in the running of the restaurant itself, but rather in the customers’ psychology. Therefore, following my marketing studies, a couple of experiences as a restaurant manager and my jobs in the marketing teams of successful companies, I’ve begun my career as a small business consultant in the tourism and F&B fields. My experiences in both the offline and online world allow me to help many entrepreneurs to increase the daily covers of their restaurants.
Upon meeting many small restaurant managers and entrepreneurs, I’ve realized that most of them were competent in the business operations but far away from the increasingly important world of marketing. In the modern context it is unthinkable to reach success without a good marketing strategy. Driven both by my love for my job and a passion for the restaurant business, I gave birth to Forketers.com, which provides great marketing for small restaurants.
SMEs Digital Marketer
My name is Francesco Caruso, and I give professional web marketing advice to small and medium-sized industries. I took a degree in Marketing and Advertising and a master’s in “Economics and Marketing of Tourism and Regional Communication” in Rome. Madly in love with the world of the Italian food business, I left for United Arab Emirates after my graduation to look into the perception of the brand “Made in Italy” in the restaurant business closely. After a couple of years spent abroad, I returned to Rome to work for Confindustria – the Confederation of Italian Industry – as a digital strategist for the small companies in the tourism and F&B fields.
Since 2014, soon after an experience in Google that changed my life, I’m a self-employed digital marketing consultant and mainly deal with small restaurant entrepreneurs in Italy. I have collaborated with Nicola many times, and when he proposed me to work on the Forketers project, I accepted with enthusiasm. I’m delighted to place my experience and professionalism at many managers’ service around the world to help them become a real Forgetter.
